Shook Synopsis

all shook up book summary

That same day, somebody swiped my bike from the city pool because, yes--I'd stupidly left it unlocked. The author has a nice way with words! So dry at times that the reader may worry whether rock is truly dead. One thing that I would do however, is put less facts and more of the author's personal opinion. Highly recommended for all libraries with popular music and American studies collections, especially as a complement to Charlie Gillett's The Sound of the City and James Miller's Flowers in the Dustbin. Josh's father loses his job and begins a career as an Elvis impersonator. Please see the supplementary resources provided below for other helpful content related to this book. In this book, Altschuler's style is informative.

As you would expect, Josh slowly learns to accept dad and not be so self-focused. It would have been nice if the men Josh and his dad were better at communicating, but they suck at it. She rushes off in pursuit of Chad. And I did enjoy this one. If I just told you? Rock 'n roll seemed to be everywhere during the decade, exhilarating, influential, and an outrage to those Americans intent on wishing away all forms of dissent and conflict.

This is an easy read and my son liked it. So, when this book showed up at my book fair, I purchased it for the library, and knew I had to read it. From award-winning author Shelley Pearsall comes a hilarious novel about a father and son discovering something about being who you areand who you're not. Chad, caught off guard, discovers that he has feelings. This book follows the decade of the 50's, in which the genre of Rock and Roll was invented. Today, rock n' roll still has questionable cultural, as opposed to popular legitimacy as opposed to so-called classical music. Before long Horwitz and Blair had approximately a list of 300, not the 100 that they had originally had planned.

Book Review: All Shook Up by Glenn C. Altschuler

It will appeal to any kids who've been mortified by their parents—namely, all of them. There were two of them. Of course though, everything works out in the end. Parents feared that their white teenage daughters were lusting after black performers, and they feared the results of this co-mingling of the races. Enhancements were made to more precisely measure materials read in K-2 classrooms.

All Shook Up

Today, I live in a small village in northeastern Ohio called Silver Lake with my husband Mike, stepson Ethan, and cat Marbles. So it all starts off with a 13 year old boy who has to leave his hometown to go stay with his father for a few months. A campaign was started to clean up the filthy lyrics. In addition, rock celebrated romance and sex, rattled the reticent by pushing sexuality into the public arena, and mocked deferred gratification and the obsessionwith work of men in gray flannel suits. All Shook Up looked closely at the generational divide that existed during this era. I like All Shook Up because it definitely makes you laugh.
