The meaning of the term Rock n Roll is debatable. She shook her head and closed her eyes, but the tears continued to fall. Gran died not long after cancer got Aunt Lin. That same day, somebody swiped my bike from the city pool because, yes--I'd stupidly left it unlocked. The author has a nice way with words! So dry at times that the reader may worry whether rock is truly dead. One thing that I would do however, is put less facts and more of the author's personal opinion. Highly recommended for all libraries with popular music and American studies collections, especially as a complement to Charlie Gillett's The Sound of the City and James Miller's Flowers in the Dustbin. The story is fun and interesting, and progresses at a nice pace. I hope they will be able to sence talked into the leaper befor they go back. Sizing up the dreariness of the town, Chad electrifies a broken-down jukebox with his bare hands, infecting everyone with the rebellious spirit of his music. Chad then confesses his feelings - for Ed - only to learn that Ed is really Natalie. I want to shoot that prick too bad.
As you would expect, Josh slowly learns to accept dad and not be so self-focused. It would have been nice if the men Josh and his dad were better at communicating, but they suck at it. She rushes off in pursuit of Chad. And I did enjoy this one. If I just told you? Rock 'n roll seemed to be everywhere during the decade, exhilarating, influential, and an outrage to those Americans intent on wishing away all forms of dissent and conflict.
It didn't seem like such a bad idea until his father meets him at the airport looking like Elvis. But Chad enters, as does Dean with Lorraine. Chad realises that, like it or not, his feelings - for Ed - cannot be denied. But that rarely happens and so they dig themselves a deeper hole trying to cover up their lie.
